I took a near empty train into the City and walked from St. Paul's, across the Millenium bridge to the South Bank and onto London Bridge.
There was a sense of eeriness in the capital. Roads were almost empty, lone joggers going about their daily exercise, shops closed except a handful of take away food outlets serving customers who mostly worked in nearby construction sites.

]]>A warm and playful take on mid century modern designs, the retro colour palette and material choices pay homage to the original 60s house. The choice of yellow for the rubber flooring and the shower room add an instant bright cheeriness to the interior.
Luxury accents such as brass taps and sink, matching cabinet pulls and cherry clad kitchen cabinet doors and cladding complete the mid century modern aesthetics.
The renovation was featured in Ideal Home magazine July 2020 issue.

On entering the flat, the staircase sits within a high double-height space illuminated by a large rooflight that provides the flat with a light, spacious focal point. The result is a sequence of luminous spaces that combines the period details of the original flat with a crisp, contemporary sensibility.
The crisp white kitchen units and quartz worktop create a calm backdrop for the colourful patterned patchwork of ceramic tiled splashback. The warm wood tones of the oak dining table, vintage teak dining chairs and sideboard add warmth to this kitchen diner.
The refurbishment was featured in the Guardian magazine 17.01.2015. Please click here to read the article.
